Really Bad Day

Well, I put off grading my student's six weeks exams as long as I could. I tried to avoid it as long as possible since I knew right away that in my homeroom, I only had three students pass. yes, three out of 18. If we reduce that fraction, it is 1/6. WOW!!!! The six weeks exam is handed down from administration and the same test is administered to all the 4th graders in the district. So, the results tell me that I basically SUCK!!!! Ok, but what do you do? I have read and read and read some more. I have observed many hours. I try to peep in on teachers from time to time to see how they do things. Is this all part of the learning curve? Is it because this is the first test of the year? Is it because it is all word problems? Is it fair that my students have to suffer because I am a new teacher? Anyway, I am totally bummed right now. I am not sure what to think. I am really disappointed in myself and I am really upset.
